John Cannon Homes wins six “best overall” awards, Medallion Home takes four.

John Cannon Homes and Medallion Home were the top winners in the single-family category in the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association’s 2020 Parade of Homes.


John Cannon won six “best overall” awards while Medallion picked up four among the 25 categories based on home prices that were handed out Thursday night.


Kolter Homes won two best overall awards in the single-family group.


Winners of single overall awards were Adams Homes, Neal Communities, David Weekley Homes, Heritage Builders, M/I Homes, Neal Signature Homes, Taylor Morrison, Toll Brothers, Stock Signature Homes, Arthur Rutenberg/R.W. Wilson Homes, Anchor Builders, Kemick Builders & Consultants, and Arthur Rutenberg/Nelson Homes.


Those and other builders also won awards in such categories as best curb appeal, kitchen, master suite, floor plan and architectural detail.


In the multifamily section, Mattamy Homes, Medallion and Minto Communities each won two best overall awards. David Weekley Homes, Neal Communities and Taylor Morrison each one won.


The top communities, selected in seven categories, were One Particular Harbour Margaritaville, The Islands on the Manatee River, Palma Sola Bay Club, The Lake Club, Grand Palm, West Villages Florida, and Lakewood Ranch.


Awards were also given for landscaping and pools.


The Parade of Homes runs through March 15. It showcases 107 model homes throughout seven developments in the Sarasota-Manatee region.


All of the winners will be listed in this Sunday’s Real Estate section of the Herald-Tribune.
