Lunch bell: Get your Southern food fix at Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap restaurant on Clematis Street

Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap, the Miami-based restaurant and located in the former Alchemist spot in downtown West Palm Beach, is revamping their weekday lunch menu.

What’s new? The popular Southern kitchen joint is offering their signature chicken ‘n’ waffles dish in half-sized portions. The dish features sweet tea-brined fried chicken, a cornbread waffle served with chili-thyme honey and bourbon-maple butter. Guests can choose white meat for $13.50 or a dark meat plate for $12.50.

The new lunch combos, ($10.50), include unique sandwich options: The B.L.A.T. sandwich is topped with candied bacon, beefsteak tomato, ’B1’ aioli, and fresh avocado. All sandwiches come with a side of house salad or corn chowder.

On the "picnic table" side of the lunch menu and there’s the new Dirty South. It’s an 8-ounce brisket burger topped with smoked cheddar, gouda sauce, Frito dust, and candied bacon.

If you want to mix your southern palate with an Italian/New Orleans experience, try the muffaletta sandwich, ($14.50 ), featuring smoked and dry-cured meats and cheeses on Italian Bread that's spread with olive salad and Calabrian chile.

Vegetarians and vegans will enjoy some grass-fed options, including the Impossible Burger -- a 6 ounce plant-based burger or a barbecue Jackfruit "pulled pork" sandwich, made with root beer BBQ and topped with crispy onion straws.

As expanded development in the downtown area continues, Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap tries to remain just as innovative.
