Having gained a following since its 2017 debut, the open-to-the-public restaurant in the Palm Beach Towers condominium complex is reopening for its third season.
Restaurant 44, which takes its name from the Palm Beach Towers’ 44 Cocoanut Row address, plans to reopen for dinner on Saturday. Lunch service is slated to be added starting Nov. 25.
The spacious restaurant, with indoor and al fresco seating in a clubby white-tablecloth setting, debuted in autumn 2017. Since then, it has garnered critical thumbs-up and other accolades for food and service.

The new season at Restaurant 44 welcomes back Executive Chef Philip Kroesen, who in summer leads the kitchen at the Southampton Bath & Tennis Club.
Kroesen’s menus at the Palm Beach restaurant have combined innovative modern dishes with elevated comfort-food classics.
"I’m excited about the new season," Kroesen, who got married last week, said Friday. "We’ve modernized the menu a bit more, with dishes like charred Spanish octopus and split-roasted duck we brine. We’re also more of a known restaurant now, but what people love is that they still feel like they’re dining in their private club because of the attention we give."

Other dishes Kroesen has added to Restaurant 44’s new menus include avocado-and-tuna terrine, and edamame-crusted Chilean sea bass with bean-sprout risotto, sweet potato-and-coconut bisque and black-garlic vinaigrette.
Patron favorites remain, such as black truffle-and-currant ravioli with sweet-corn puree, pistachio crumble and truffle vinaigrette. Among the comfort-food favorites: beef brisket, and chicken pot pie made with free-range chicken and seasonal vegetables.
According to Restaurant 44, the new season also ushers in a new staff member: pastry chef Matthew Harrington, who hails from the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo.
His new desserts for the season are set to include banana Basque cake — a warm almond cake filled with banana pastry cream and walnut jam and served with rum sauce and house-made butternut-squash ice cream.
Restaurant 44 also features a newly renovated kitchen, with upgrades including the addition of a convection steamer and a rotisserie.
