Flagler College’s Women of Vision Advisory Board will host its fourth annual Power of the Purse luncheon May 17, 2018.

The event will include a silent auction of purses, followed by a luncheon and program in the college’s historic Ponce de Leon Hall. The funds raised will support scholarships and educational opportunities for women attending Flagler College.

This year, the program features guest speakers from Atlanta, Georgia, Lena Franklin (LCSW) and Meghan Toups (LPC), who will focus on the trending topic of “mindfulness,” which emphasizes healing from within to improve one’s emotional and physical wellbeing. Both women have been featured as health and wellness experts in numerous media outlets including The New York Times Style Magazine.

A key element of the fundraiser is the Power of the Purse Tribute Book. The book will feature full-page tributes, including photographs and text that can be purchased for $250 to commemorate or celebrate a special, inspirational woman who has made a difference in your life. Tributes can be in memory of a loved one or in recognition of a living person.

“Everyone attending the luncheon will receive the signature keepsake from the event — a Tribute Book,” said Kathi Keller, chairwoman for the event. “Purchasing a tribute is a wonderful way to show appreciation of a mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher or colleague, while also supporting scholarships for women at Flagler College.”

The deadline for submitting a tribute is April 13, 2018.

The Women of Vision Advisory Board is also seeking sponsors for the 2018 event. Power of the Purse luncheon sponsors — including Diamond, Ruby and Citrine level donors, as well as media and in-kind sponsors — will be recognized for their support in the Tribute Book and on the Women of Vision website.
