Appetizers, salads, soups, wings, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, steak, seafood, chicken, pasta, dessert and the full bar highlight Chubbies’ offerings.
Fun and inviting, with beer signs covering the walls and TV sets plentiful overhead. Dine in the bar area and take part in daily events like trivia contests and open mic night, or opt for the separate dining room with lots of padded booths.
Our favorite food/price
We started with an order of 10 chicken wings ($9.95) and were pleased at how plump and crispy they were, swimming in mango habanero sauce, as ordered. We needed the complimentary blue cheese sauce to tamp down the heat, and were surprised no celery or carrot sticks were included with the dish. The New York strip ($19.95) was a huge, juicy cut of steak with a rich, chargrilled flavor that satisfied my hankering for beef. Served with a salad and one side, it was a real steak lover’s meal, and tasted on par with some of the finer steakhouses I’ve visited.
Reason to go
Delicious, affordable food in a lively place the whole family can enjoy. There are daily food specials, and it’s a fun place to watch the big game or socialize with friends.
Fairly good on a recent weeknight. Our waitress was brand new and wasn’t familiar with everything on the menu, but she was quick to get answers to our questions. She was pleasant and visited the table often.
Noisy, with chatter from trivia night and nearby diners.
Children can feast on burgers, chicken tenders, corn dogs, fried fish and grilled cheese.
