The young chef will appear at the downtown Sarasota restaurant as part of a celebrity chef series
Element, the modern Mediterranean-inspired grill and craft cocktail bar in downtown Sarasota, will have a young chef who's appeared on national television join their staff for one weekend.
The restaurant will launch a celebrity chef series starting Sept. 20-21 with "MasterChef Junior" winner Beni Cwiakala. She will work with Element executive chef Nils Tarantik to create the chef's specials each night, will be available to meet dinner guests and will lead a morning crepe cooking lesson.

Cwiakala won season six of "MasterChef Junior" last year, competing when she was just nine years old. The Chicago native says she's helped her parents in the kitchen at home ever since she was about three years old.
Her favorite dish to cook at home is crepes, she says, and she'll lead 10 aspiring Sarasota chefs ages 9-13 in a lesson the morning of Sept. 21. Parents of interested children can call 941-210-5644 to reserve a spot, with a $150 entry fee helping toward the cost of a child's apron and crepe pan, which they will be allowed to keep.
Element is located at 1413 Main St. For more information, call 941-724-8585 or visit elementsrq.com.
