Much of the fresh fish that PB Catch plans to feature Friday night will have at least one thing in common: an association with the Mediterranean.

That's because the sustainable seafood restaurant and raw bar at 251 Sunrise Ave. is set to host “Taste of the Mediterranean,” which, apropos to PB Catch's bailiwick, will showcase seafood.

Fish prepared and served whole — which PB Catch began emphasizing a couple of years ago — will take the spotlight, including various Mediterranean varieties, such as dorade, branzino and rouget, among others.

The fish can be served grilled, roasted or fried. Grilled is the most popular, perhaps finished with a smoky Provencal-style vinaigrette with lemon and herbs.

Besides whole fish preparations, PB Catch's head chef Aaron Black said he has other daily specials planned for Friday. Among them: octopus with sunchoke puree, grilled squash, tomatoes and caramelized onion.

PB Catch's regular menu also will be available, so look for additional seafood dishes — from grilled Atlantic salmon to Maine lobster roll — plus vegan selections and such meaty fare as grilled hanger steak and Wagyu burger.
