A 12-year-old boy who tested positive for gonorrhea told Gainesville police he woke to a man in his home performing oral sex on him.

Brian Gonzalez, 26, of an apartment in the 3200 block of SW 25th Drive, was charged with sexual battery on a person 12 or older while the victim was physically helpless, records show. Bond was set at $175,000, according to jail records.

Thursday night, the boy told his mother it burned when he urinated, and she took him to North Florida Regional Medical Center, where he tested positive for the sexually transmitted disease, an arrest report said.

The mother asked if he'd had sex, and he said no, but when Gonzalez was no longer in the room, the boy said that Saturday night after he'd had nausea medicine that makes him sleepy, he woke to Gonzalez performing oral sex on him, the report said.

Upon hearing the boy had gonorrhea, the mother told police Gonzalez became physically ill and had to be admitted to the hospital for a heart condition, the report said.

Police said Gonzalez admitted the Feb. 11 oral sex incident and another similar incident a month earlier.
