About 100 customers are affected, according to Sarasota County.

SARASOTA COUNTY -- A water main break closed a portion of Beneva Road on Monday.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office reported that both lanes of Beneva Road south and one northbound lane were closed near Beneva Woods Boulevard by the break, which happened before 8 a.m. Sheriff's Office video showed water flowing over Beneva Road.

About 100 customers were affected by the break, according to the county. The water was turned off at the Lake Arrowhead condos and Beneva Woods as crews repaired the main.

The Sheriff's Office reported that the lanes would remain closed overnight. Beneva Road traffic was rerouted and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

Sarasota County issued a precautionary boil water notice for residents of Lake Arrowhead and Beneva Woods.
