OCALA - Ocala police officers are investigating an early morning home invasion in which a man's wallet was taken, along with his commemorative "Vietnam Veteran" cap.

The victim, who lives in the 1900 block of Northwest Second Street, told police officials he was sitting on a futon when two men came in through the front door. He said he stood up and one of the intruders hit him in the head with a firearm. He said the robbers took his hat and wallet, which contained cash, his driver’s license and credit cards. The strangers then ran from the home.

The incident was reported at 3:33 a.m. The victim refused medical attention. He described the robbers as Hispanic males who both stood about 6 feet tall. Their faces were covered.
