A new 22,332-square-foot neighborhood retail center is heading for Lakewood Ranch.
Construction has begun of the center at 4112 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., about a mile south of State Road 64, and is expected to be finished in August.
The project is 65 percent leased, according to Keller Williams Realty of Manatee, which will have an office there. The company bought the land for $1 million last fall from Schroeder-Manatee Ranch Inc., developer of the master-planned community.
The company financed the project with a $3.73 million loan from Seacoast national Bank of Stuart. Construction is expected to cost $6 million.
Other tenants include X-30 Fitness, a nail salon, a local pharmacy and Skyline Chili, a Cincinnati-based restaurant chain.
Located on the northwest corner of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and Technology Terrace, the Shoppes at Commerce Park has over 380 feet of frontage on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and exposure to 16,998 vehicles per day, according to Keller Williams.
