What's closed and what's open.
A look at local government offices and facilities that will be closed in the area on Monday, in observance of Presidents Day:
City of Sarasota
Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Monday. Garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup will continue as regularly scheduled. Hours of operation at recreation and cultural arts facilities will vary:
Bobby Jones Golf Club, 1000 Circus Blvd., will be open regular hours: 6:30 a.m.– 5:30 p.m.
Lido Pool, 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive, will be closed.
Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 John Rivers St., will be open regular hours: 6 a.m.– 8 p.m.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, box office will be open from 10 a.m. through intermission of the evening show. "Stayin’ Alive" will take the stage at 8 p.m.
The regular City Commission meeting will be held the following day on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 1565 First St.
Most Sarasota County government offices will be closed. All Sarasota County Libraries will be closed, as well as Sarasota County recreation centers, with the exception of the following: Payne Park Tennis Center, open 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Arlington Park Recreation Center, open noon to 5 p.m.
Sarasota County Area Transit will be on a normal bus schedule, including the free Siesta Key Breeze service, but the customer service stations at SCAT Administration and the downtown transfer station will be closed.
The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County will also have regular operating hours on Feb. 19, offering its full range of medical and public health services. Sarasota County Contracted Human Services and Veterans Services will be closed.
The collection schedule for solid waste, yard waste and recyclables will not be affected by the holiday, and remains on the regular pick-up schedule with no interruption of collection service. The landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road in Nokomis will be open, but the administrative office will be closed.
The Chemical Collection Center at 250 S. Jackson Road in Venice will be closed. The Citizens Convenience Center on Knights Trail Road and the Chemical Collection Center at 8750 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota will be open.

Government offices will be closed. All trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week will be postponed one day from Tuesday through Saturday for residents in unincorporated Manatee. Manatee County Area Transit, the Anna Maria Island Trolley and the Longboat Key Shuttle will operate normal daily routes.
Downtown Central Library, the only public library open on Mondays, will be closed for Presidents Day and will reopen Tuesday. Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be closed, but G.T. Bray Skate Park will be open.
Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open.
