The Cassen Park boat ramp reopened Friday, much to the delight of Ormond Beach residents.

Cassen Park and adjacent Bailey Riverbridge Gardens closed in September after heavy winds and storm surge from Hurricane Irma damaged the boat ramp and fishing piers. While the parks reopened in October, residents had to wait until near the end of January for repairs to the fishing pier to be completed. The cost to repair the parks, which included debris removal and the construction of four new finger piers, was just over $40,000, a city spokeswoman said.
