OCALA - A motorcycle rider who was hospitalized Monday after a driver cut him off and he had to lay down the bike, had his Harley-Davidson stolen from the side of the road where the incident occurred.
Alton Manley told an Ocala Police Department officer that he was riding his blue 2016 Harley-Davidson XG750 west on Southwest College Road when a motorist abruptly changed lanes in front of him and he had to put his bike down in the road. He said bystanders helped him as the driver of the vehicle that cut him off drove away.
Manley said he pushed his motorcycle onto the grassy median in the 3800 block of SW College Road and called his mother, who came and got him and took him to West Marion Community Hospital, from which he was later released.
In the meantime, family members were asked to pick up the motorcycle, but could not find it.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the Harley can call OPD at 369-7000. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 368-STOP, or visit www.ocalacrimestoppers.com.
