Winn-Dixie may have closed one of its three stores in DeLand, but one of the remaining locations has a new shine to it.
The grocery store at 1050 W. New York Ave. reopened April 12 after it was remodeled to address customers' desire for a better shopping experience, said Darby Underwood, a public relations account manager for Southeastern Grocers.
The renovations include: new signage, an updated produce department with more kinds of fruits and vegetables, an improved deli with more grab-and-go meal and sandwich choices, an expanded meat department and improved bakery and floral departments.
"The newly remodeled store is designed with the needs of this unique community in mind," Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, said. "We're excited to give our loyal customers a store they can count on while continuing to offer a convenient shopping experience, exceptional service and the freshest products at the right price."
The Jacksonville-based company in March said it'd be closing over 90 stores, including the location at 2701 S. Woodland Blvd.
