An Ohio couple headed to DeLand was killed in a plane crash in rural Coshocton County Monday.
Pilot Edward Zezlina, 67, and passenger Linda O’Brien, 71, of Grafton, were en route from Elyria to DeLand when their aircraft went down a few miles from Blissfield, roughly 60 miles northeast of Columbus. The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol released the victims’ names Monday evening, noting that the cause of the crash had not been determined.
Coshocton County Sheriff Timothy Rogers said his office was contacted Monday morning after the single-engine plane dropped off of radar. A property owner located the wreckage of the 1971 Beechcraft Bonanza in a wooded area off County Road 401 just before 10 a.m.
The Zanesville post of the State Highway Patrol, the FAA and the county coroner’s office were at the scene Monday morning, Rogers said.
The National Transportation Safety Board is heading the investigation into the crash.
