The Gainesville Archer Road Target and Ocala SR 200 Target are among the first 270 stores to offer the service.

Your Target run may have just turned into a drive-and-sit.

A press release by the retailer states that in nearly 270 stores in the South and Southeast, it has launched Target Drive Up, a service that allows guests to place orders via the Target app and then have their items brought out to their cars by a Target employee.

The Target store at 3970 Archer Road is one of them, according to a list of stores provided by Target and confirmed by a store employee Tuesday. So is the Target store in Ocala, at 2000 SW College Road.

The release says that, when ordering through the Target app, users must select “Drive Up” as the fulfillment option.

Target will send a notification when the user’s order is ready, usually within one to two hours, according to Target.

Users must tap the “I’m on the way” button when they're ready to head to the store, park in a designated Drive Up spot, and within about two minutes, a Target employee will bring up the order to their car, ready to be loaded into the trunk or back seat, the release says.

Target plans to expand its Drive Up service to more than 1,000 stores by the end of 2018.
