Nominations sought

The Marion County Supervisor of Elections Office is seeking nominations for a Veterans Wall of Honor, which will feature a mural accompanied by digital photos and biographies of veterans and active duty service members connected to Marion County. To submit a nomination, go to VoteMarion.com/Veterans. An unveiling ceremony will begin at noon May 30 at the office, at 981 NE 16th Street, Ocala. Light refreshments will be provided. Aquatic centers

The city of Ocala's Jervey Gantt Aquatic Fun Center, 2390 SW 36th Ave., will be open from Saturday through Sept. 3. The Hampton Aquatic Fun Center, 255 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., will be open May 26-Sept. 3. Hours for both are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. Sundays. A two-hour swim session costs $3 for adults, $2 for children 2-17 and free age 1 and younger. Pool passes also are available. Call 368-5517.

Sampler series

The Will McLean Foundation's Sampler Concert Series continues with The Ashley Gang at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Dunnellon Depot, 12061 S. Williams St., Dunnellon. $10 donation; refreshments served at intermission.  Visit willmclean.com.

Giving back

A Giving Back Fundraiser will be held 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday at Paddock Park South, 8880 SW 27th Ave., Ocala. The event will include food, vendors, kids activities, comedians, live music and more. New blankets and financial donations will be accepted for the Ocala Police Department, Marion County Sheriff Foundation and Veterans Helping Veterans. Run for mutts

Women's expo

The Ocala Style Women’s Expo: A Girl’s Day Out will be held noon-5 p.m. Sunday at the College of Central Florida Klein Center, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala. History presentation

The Marion County Museum of History and Archaeology will offer a presentation about the history of the Dixie Highway at 2 p.m. Sunday at Green Clover Hall, 319 SE 26th Terrace, Ocala.
