KISSIMMEE — U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is scheduled to join U.S. Rep. Darren Soto and other elected officials and candidates Saturday at a Democratic rally in Poinciana.

Others invited to attend include former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, who is challenging Soto in the U.S. House District 9 race, and Bob Doyel of Winter Haven, a candidate for the Florida Senate. The event, free and open to the public, will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Solavita Freedom Park, 395 Village Drive, in Kissimmee.

Pelosi and Soto are also scheduled to hold a news conference Saturday at noon at the Community Hope Center, located at 2420 Old Vineland Road in Kissimmee. They will be joined by the Rev. Mary Downey, executive director of the Community Hope Center.

The news conference will cover affordable housing, relief for Puerto Rican evacuees and federal entitlement programs.
