A Deltona man whose arrest resulted in the firing of a Volusia County sheriff's deputy was arrested again, this time for abusing his wife, officials said. He is also accused of threatening to kill a deputy and spitting on the lawman.
Pablo Juarez, 57, was arrested Tuesday and remained held at the Volusia County Branch Jail on $16,000 bail. Records show he is charged with false imprisonment, threatening a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement and battery, jail records show.
During Tuesday's arrest, Juarez started banging his head in the back of the patrol car. When the deputy pulled over to further restrain the suspect, Juarez spit on him, according to the arrest report. He also made threats.
“I’m going to send drug dealers to your house to (expletive) and kill your family,” Pablo Juarez said to the deputy, the report states. “They’re going to rape your wife and mom.”
During an arrest in September 2016, Juarez was the subject of a disturbance in Deltona and, during the arrest, deputy Andrew Jenkins used a take-down when he said Juarez, who was belligerent, was also resisting.

An investigation found Jenkins used excessive force with his "leg sweep" maneuver and doctors found that Juarez's leg was broken.
Jenkins was fired April 2 for using excessive force and Volusia County paid $165,000 to Juarez in an out-of-court settlement.
This week Jenkins was still waiting to go before the county’s personnel board to ask for his job back, said Volusia sheriff’s Sgt. Brodie Hughes, president of the Volusia County Deputies Association, the union that represents deputies.
“We are appealing the termination through the county’s Personnel Board and are confident they will overturn his termination returning him to work,” Hughes said. “He (Jenkins) remains eager to clear his good name.”
In Juarez’s latest arrest on Tuesday, deputies were called to a domestic disturbance at Juarez’s Galgano Avenue.
Jaurez’s wife of 35 years, Maria Juarez, reported to deputies that her husband is so often physically abusive to her that they live in separate bedrooms. The wife, crying and scared, reported that on Friday she and her husband got into an argument over marital issues and she tried to leave the home, deputies said.
Pablo Juarez grabbed the woman by both arms from behind and squeezed, pulling her back into the home, the report states. The wife said she was scared of her husband and feared for her life so she did not immediately call for help.
When Pablo Juarez was arrested, he said he was a gang member and knows people who would be willing to kill the deputy, a report states.
