Planned construction projects and traffic alerts from the Town of Palm Beach for the week starting Monday:

Undergrounding: On Wednesday and Thursday, North Lake Way will be closed to all traffic between Reef Road and Onondaga Avenue to install the proposed underground conduits that cross North Lake Way. The road will be closed to all traffic on both days from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The road will re-open at the end of each day. A detour will be set each day. Comcast will be installing through conduits around Caribbean, Arabian and Indian roads as well as East Inlet Drive; directional drilling will be done on Reef Road and Seagate Road; one lane of traffic will be maintained.

Southern Boulevard roundabout: Florida Power & Light contract crews will be performing construction work through Nov. 2, resulting in a temporary lane closure to prepare the area for underground service. To accommodate this work, one lane westbound on Southern Boulevard will be temporarily closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning just before the roundabout near the A1A curve to just after the roundabout near the Intracoastal Waterway. The roundabout will remain fully open throughout the project. No power interruptions are anticipated. Call 561-495-7668 for additional information.

North County Road medians: Work will involve removing and leveling disturbed turf areas in preparation for sod from Wells Road to Miraflores. This project should be completed by Friday.

Tree removal: Several dead fruit trees will be removed from the median on Hibiscus Avenue across from Apollo parking lot. There will be limited lane closures. The project should be completed on or before Wednesday.

Directional boring: AT&T will start boring on Cocoanut Row between Royal Palm Way and Australian Avenue. Parallel parking spots will be blocked on the west side of Cocoanut Road between Royal Palm Way and Australian, and the sidewalk will be closed on the west side of Cocoanut Row. Parking spaces on the north side of Brazilian Avenue west of Cocoanut Row also will be blocked. One-way eastbound traffic will be maintained on Australian at Cocoanut Row with parking spaces on the north side of Australian blocked starting at Cocoanut Row.

Townwide royal palm trimming: There will be limited lane closures with periodic blocking of parking stalls. The following roads will be affected: Royal Poinciana Way 200-400 blocks; Cocoanut Row 100-400 blocks; Lakeside Park and South Lake Drive; Royal Palm Way 100-400 blocks; and 400 block of Hibiscus Avenue.

Recreation Center project: Be aware of multiple large trucks leaving the site on westbound Royal Palm Way. For more information, contact Pat Marshall, project manager, Hedrick Brothers Construction, 568-4182, or Eric Brown, Public Works Department, at 838-5440.

Royal Palm Way irrigation improvements: Work continues through the end of the month in the medians on Royal Palm Way from the Royal Park Bridge east to South Ocean Boulevard. No lane closures are anticipated.

Streetlight installation: Florida Power and Light contractors will doing installation on South Ocean Boulevard from Sloan’s Curve south to Lake Avenue. The contractor will be periodically closing the southbound lane of South Ocean Boulevard. Work also will begin on Onondaga Avenue north to East Inlet Drive. Work is expected to be completed by early October. The contractor will be periodically closing portions of North Ocean Boulevard, North Lake Way, East Inlet Drive and Onondaga Avenue.

Signal work: At the intersections of Cocoanut Row and Clarke Avenue and at Bradley Place and Sunrise Avenue, the improvement project continues. The contractor will be closing the west end of Clarke Avenue and Sunrise Avenue to through traffic for foundation installation and installation of signal conduit. They will also be closing a lane on Bradley Place at Sunrise Avenue. Sidewalks will be closed during the construction.

Sanitary sewer maintenance: Work will be performed on South Ocean Boulevard between Southern Boulevard and Barton Avenue. There will be intermittent lane closures.
