MARION COUNTY — A 39-year-old Ocala man died Friday night as the result of a single-car crash in southwest Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
According to an FHP news release. Steven Michael Walsh was pronounced dead by Marion County Fire Rescue at the scene of the 10:50 p.m. crash on County Road 475, one mile north of County Road 484.
The news release said that Walsh, driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla and traveling north on CR 475, veered left off the paved roadway and onto the west shoulder for unknown reasons.
The Toyota struck a fence and began to overturn, and then hit a brick driveway entrance in the 12000 block of CR 475. Walsh was ejected from the car.
The FHP release says Walsh was not wearing a seatbelt.
