PALMETTO — A pedestrian fatality that occurred Dec.6 is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to reports, a car driven by Bradley John Yost, 31, of Palmetto was traveling east on Bayshore Road, west of U.S. 41 about 9:29 p.m. Behind him was was a pickup truck being driven by John Thomas Cray, 46, of Parrish.
For some unknown reason, Yost stopped his car, got out of his vehicle and walked into the roadway, where he was struck by Cray's truck.
The report says Cray then drove away with Yost lodged underneath his truck. Yost later became dislodged from under the truck in a lane of 73rd Street, west of U.S. 41. He was later pronounced dead by the North River Fire Department.
The accident remains under investigation.
