Palm Beach County School District authorities warned that dismissal-time traffic may be heavy.

BOCA RATON — West Boca Raton High School was evacuated Friday afternoon for a reported gas leak, Palm Beach County School District authorities said.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue authorities were at the school on Glades Road investigating the leak.

In a message to parents, school authorities said:

"Attention West Boca High School Families, one of our buildings has been evacuated due to a gas leak on campus. The fire department is on the scene and there is no danger to students or staff.

However, this will affect dismissal.
Please make note:
- Buses in the bus loop will operate as normal.
- The main entrance/parent pick-up will be reduced to one lane only.
- We are asking teachers allow traffic to subside before leaving.
- It is recommended that students be picked up from the west entrance.

We expect traffic to be heavy for dismissal. We will have additional law enforcement officers available to assist with traffic.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get students home safely."
