The West Palm Beach teen had a gun on his right leg, under his sweatpants, school police records state.
WEST PALM BEACH — A Palm Beach Lakes High School student is facing charges after officers found a 9 mm gun under his pant leg Friday at the West Palm Beach school.
Palm Beach County School District police pulled Andre Jackson, 18, from class Friday morning after another student reported seeing a gun in Jackson's waistband.
The other student was afraid Jackson would shoot someone because the West Palm Beach teen "is involved in some off-campus incidents," according to school police records.

Jackson was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm on school property and illegally carrying a concealed weapon. He is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. School authorities said he also faces disciplinary actions under the student code of conduct.
When officers took Jackson from class, they asked if he had anything on him, according to police records. He told them he had a gun on his right leg under his sweatpants. The 9 mm Smith & Wesson was not loaded but contained an empty magazine, officers noted.
Jackson told officers that his cousin gave him the gun in November. He said he was going to sell it after school for $250, but he wouldn't tell authorities to whom he planned to sell it.
In a call sent to parents Friday afternoon, Principal David Alfonso praised students for speaking up and encouraged parents to talk to students about the severity of the situation.
"We had several students report this to administration, which allowed us in conjunction with school police to respond to this situation immediately and appropriately," Alfonso said.

Jackson's arrest is one of four gun-related arrests last week at Palm Beach County schools.

Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy student Martez Terrell Robinson, 18, was arrested Wednesday for reportedly having a loaded magazine and a pistol in his backpack.
Princeley Jecrois, 18, of Lantana also was arrested Wednesday after allegedly pointing a gun at a student at Boynton Beach High School in December. Records indicate that Jecrois is a former Boynton High student and that he previously threatened to shoot a student.
Last year, at least three gun-related incidents led to arrests at Palm Beach Lakes High School.
And in October, a former Palm Beach Lakes student reportedly threatened the football team with a gun in the school parking lot.
In late August, a suburban West Palm man tried to bring a loaded handgun into a high school football game. Prosecutors later dropped the charges against that man.
And the day after 17 people were killed in the Parkland school shooting, a Palm Beach Lakes High student reportedly had two guns at school.
