Pedro Rendon, 49, died in the wreck on Lake Worth Road, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
GREENACRES — A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a wreck west of Greenacres, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
Pedro Rendon of Greenacres was riding a 2004 Honda Shadow west on Lake Worth Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. when he crashed into the side of a turning car.
The 2014 Ford Mustang's driver, 24-year-old Laurent Pyram-Schettini, told authorities he thought he had a green light, so he turned left at the intersection of Lake Worth Road and the entrance to Florida's Turnpike.
Rendon was killed after being thrown from his bike.
Pyram-Schettini, who lives east of Wellington, sustained minor injuries in the wreck. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, records show.
Sheriff's authorities are investigating the crash and will send their findings to the State Attorney's Office to determine whether anyone will face charges in the wreck.
