LAKELAND — SPCA Florida is participating in the Clear the Shelters event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lakeland locations include the SPCA Florida campus at 5850 South Brannen Road and Petco at 4139 U.S. Hwy. 98 N.

SPCA Florida will offer a reduced adoption fee at all locations. Adoption fees for cats, kittens and dogs are $40 for this event and two kittens can be adopted for $60. All pets are fully vetted, vaccinated and microchipped. SPCA has a great variety of cats, dogs and kittens in all sizes and colors.

NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host the fifth annual Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive. More than 250,000 pets have found their forever homes since 2015.

“This is a great time to adopt one of Polk County's homeless animals, and in return receive unconditional love,” said Shelley Thayer, SPCA Florida executive director.

SPCA Florida is asking for financial, foster and adoption support. To help, go online at www.spcaflorida.org and donate, foster or check out the available dogs and cats.
