PALM BEACH GARDENS - A William T. Dwyer High School student died Tuesday as the result of a medical episode, the Palm Beach County School District reported.
Principal Corey Brooks informed parents of the death in a recorded call. School officials did not disclose the student’s name, age, gender or grade.
The student was taken from the campus in Palm Beach Gardens to an undisclosed hospital, where the student died, the school district said.
The school will offer grief counseling and bereavement support services to all students and staff members for the remainder of the week, Brooks said in the call to parents.
The death occurred on the second day of the school year.
The school, on Military Trail south of Donald Ross Road, serves about 2,200 students from Jupiter, Juno Beach and Palm Beach Gardens.
