WINTER HAVEN — The League of United Latin American Citizens Council of Central Florida will hold an event on immigration and citizenship Oct. 11 at Polk State College's Winter Haven campus.

The gathering, titled “The Immigration Summit: Destination Citizenship 2019,” will have forums, exhibitors, immigration experts and other services. A special guest speaker luncheon is planned.

LULAC established a local council in Lakeland this year to better serve the growing Hispanic population in Polk County and Central Florida communities. The council is a nonprofit, non-partisan, human and civil rights organization committed to such issues as civil rights, social justice, immigration, education and women’s rights.

The council is accepting applications for general and corporate vendors. The cost is $95 for for-profit exhibitors and vendors and $55 for nonprofits.
