LifeSouth will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famed Woodstock music festival by hosting a blood drive.

Donors can stop by one of LifeSouth’s Gainesville donor centers from Thursday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 18 and giving blood at Bloodstock.

Festivities include a groovy flea market at the 13th Street location on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. And all donors will receive a limited-edition Bloodstock T-shirt and a movie ticket.

The Woodstock music festival was a celebration of kindness, unity and community, and blood center officials hope residents will honor that spirit by helping boost the community's blood supply.

The LifeSouth donor centers are at 4039 Newberry Road or 1221 NW 13th St. in Gainesville.

Visit lifesouth.org for donor center hours or call 888-795-2707. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental permission, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. A photo ID is required.
