The National Weather Service predicts that afternoon showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. will continue throughout the week.

Following heavy rain last week that led to flooding in Levy and Dixie counties, more rain is expected to strike the region, according to predictions from the National Weather Service.

The National Hurricane Center is also tracking Tropical Storm Dorian, which is heading northwest from the Atlantic Ocean in the direction of Barbados. It is too soon to determine the time or magnitude of impacts to Puerto Rico or Hispaniola as of Sunday, the center reported in a 5 a.m. advisory message.

Monday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90 degrees. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: A chance of thunderstorms before 8 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Wednesday night: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74 degrees.
