Trash pick-up in county to resume Thursday

The following household garbage, recycling, and yard debris schedules have been updated for Thursday and Friday to include those residents who did not receive services on Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian:

Thursday: Residents who normally have household garbage collections services on Wednesday and Thursday will have their garbage collected on Thursday. There will be no make-up days for recycling and yard waste collections for Wednesday or Thursday as these services will resume next week.

Friday: Residents will receive their regularly scheduled household garbage, recycling, and yard debris collection services.

COA services canceled through Thursday

Due to hurricane activity, all Council on Aging offices, including Sunshine Bus, Paratransit, IMEP, Sunshine Center, Coastal Home Care and all five senior centers will be closed through Thursday.

Depending on conditions after the storm, COA hopes to resume services on Friday.

St. Johns County government offices closed through Thursday

With the exception of emergency service employees responding to Hurricane Dorian, all offices and departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, the Supervisor of Elections Office, the Property Appraiser’s Office, the Clerk of Courts Office, the Tax Collector’s Office, and the county courthouse will be closed through Thursday.

Additionally, the government offices of the City of St. Augustine and City of St. Augustine Beach will also be closed. Operational decisions beyond Thursday will be determined based on weather conditions.

Most circuit court activities canceled through Thursday

Court closures for the 7th Judicial Circuit have been extended through Thursday.

However, first appearances for Thursday will take place at 1:30 p.m. in Volusia County and as scheduled in Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties. Regular operations are expected to resume on Friday.

The 7th Circuit includes Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties.
