ORLANDO — Sheriff's officials said a sleeping woman was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in a neighboring apartment that killed one person.
Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Tony Boles said the woman was taken to the hospital early Friday for treatment of wounds that were not thought to be life-threatening.
He said the shooting started after someone broke into an apartment in the complex near Orlando shortly after 2 a.m. Multiple shots rang out and one bullet struck the woman as she slept in the nearby apartment.
Boles said a possible suspect was killed in the shooting at the apartment complex near Orlando. The suspect's name hasn't been released.
Deputies are still investigating the shooting.
