New art exhibit: The opening reception and award ceremony for the "Pleasures" exhibition will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the Brick City Center for the Arts, 23 SW Broadway St., Ocala. This is the center's first juried exhibit. The reception/ceremony is free and the public is invited. The exhibit, sponsored by The Lisa & David Midgett Foundation, will be on view at The Brick through Sept. 28.

"Fight or Flight: Kevin Haran and Robert Reedy": This exhibit focuses on fight or flight behaviors. The work has been curated by Tyrus Clutter, associate professor at the College of Central Florida. The exhibit features a mix of paintings and sculptures by artists Kevin Haran and Robert Reedy, both professors at the University of Central Florida, and includes a mixture of everything from war memorial images to birds in flight.
