POLK COUNTY — Polk County Public Schools announced that the two hurricane days taken this week will not have to be made up.

"Polk County Public Schools staff have reviewed state instructional time requirements and our 2019-20 school calendar. The state requires that students receive a certain number of instructional hours each school year," a statement on the district's website reads. "We are pleased to share that we will meet the state’s requirements without having to make up the days we were closed."
