November programs at Oak Hill Library


The Oak Hill Public Library, 125 E. Halifax Ave., has scheduled programs for November:


Simply crafting: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Adults can made a different craft each month. Supplies will be provided.


Book club: 10:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15. Members and guests are asked to read “Mississippi Blood” by Greg Iles.


Family craft night: 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. Bring the whole family to make keepsakes and memories.


Registration is required only for the craft programs. Call the library at 386-345-5510.


Adults can meet at the Edgewater library


Adults can exercise, search for jobs and get crafty during regular programs at the Edgewater Public Library, 103 W. Indian River Blvd. A guest presenter leads chair yoga classes for beginners and advanced practitioners from 1 to 2 p.m. every Monday. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.


Stop by the e-lab from 1 to 3 p.m. every Thursday (except Thanksgiving Day) to develop basic computer skills and get help searching for jobs, writing a cover letter and resume, and accessing online e-government applications. Walk-ins are welcome.


Seniors can take part in low-impact exercises led by Mamie Carlson from noon to 1 p.m. every Friday except Nov. 29. Newcomers are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.


Brush up on cat care at the Edgewater library


Learn about Farmhouse Cat Rescue from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Edgewater Public Library, 103 W. Indian River Blvd. A representative from the Oak Hill cat sanctuary will discuss efforts to trap, neuter and release feral cats and find homes for those that are adoptable. She will also share information on responsible pet ownership and provide pet emergency contact information. Participants will learn how to help and volunteer. Information and applications will be available for later adoptions. Registration is not required. For more information, call 386-424-2916.


St. Brendan to host arts, crafts show


St Brendan Catholic Church will host their annual Arts and Crafts Show from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, and from 7:30 a.m.-noon Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1000 Oceanshore Blvd, Ormond Beach. Fifty vendors will display and sell their items, and breakfast and lunch will be available. For information, call 386-441-1505.


Bingo at Port Orange Adult Center


"Giving Thanks Bingo" is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Port Orange Adult Center, 4790 S. Ridgewood Ave. You must bring a non-perishable, not expired food item as your entry fee to play. For more information, call 386-506-5867.


BELONG plans holiday bazaar


BELONG Christian Women's Community Outreach group will host a holiday bazaar from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Eubank Hall, 509 Magnolia St., New Smyrna Beach. American Legion to honor veterans


American Legion Post 285 will host a Veterans Day Commemorative Celebration from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens 3001 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater.
