LEESBURG — Teams from four Lake County high schools will compete in the second Leesburg Art Olympics on Saturday.

The day-long event, which serves as a prelude to Leesburg ArtFest a week later, will feature students from Leesburg, Umatilla, Eustis and Tavares High Schools, who will participate in eight artistic challenges, including transforming trash into fashion, making pottery and creating a product and a logo for a fictitious company.

Mount Dora High School competed in the first competition, but was not listed among competitors this year

The competition, which is open to the public to cheer on their respective teams, begins at 10 a.m. at the Leesburg Center for the Arts, which is located at 429 West Magnolia St.

The students’ creations will go on display at the Leesburg center for the Arts during the 43rd annual Leesburg ArtFest on March 14-15.
