Surviving the Montauk Project

FLOW to visit Ponce Inlet


The “Florida Licensing On Wheels” will be at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 9. No appointment needed. The Mini FLOWmobile office will be inside the community center. Drivers can renew or reinstate their license, change an out-of-state license to a Florida license, obtain an ID card, and purchase a duplicate license for a lost or stolen license. They also can purchase vehicle registration renewals and replacements, make address and name changes, register emergency contact information, and obtain or renew disabled parking placards. Written and driving tests will not be provided.


The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles uses FLOWmobiles and tables around the state to make its services more accessible. Appointments are not required. For a list of document options and information, visit gathergoget.com.


County seeks agencies for summer food program


Volusia County’s Human Services Office is seeking agencies to participate in the Summer Food Service Program, which will run for 10 weeks from June 1 through Aug. 14. The federally funded program provides meals and snacks to all children ages 18 and younger in geographical areas where at least 50 percent of the children are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. It was created to ensure that children in low-income areas can receive nutritious meals during summer vacation. Approved sites will receive meals to serve to participating children. Schools, public agencies and private nonprofit organizations must apply by March 13. Applications may be obtained by calling 386-736-5956, ext. 12984.


DAR to meet


The Jane Sheldon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Florida Roadhouse, 4710 U.S. 1, Edgewater. Children’s alligator program


Town of Ponce Inlet will host Preschoolers in the Parks from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, March 13, at Ponce Preserve, 4401 S. Peninsula Drive in the peninsula entrance parking lot.
