An Ohio man was arrested on Feb. 22 on a charge of driving under the influence after Palm Beach Police officers received a 911 call saying there was a vehicle parked on the sidewalk of the 200 block of Sunrise Avenue obstructing pedestrian traffic with a sleeping man behind the wheel, according to a police report.
Brian Foreman, 38, was identified by a valid Ohio driver’s license. When officers approached the vehicle, Foreman tried to exit the vehicle from the driver’s side door, the report said. His eyes were bloodshot and he had a “very slowed/soft speech.” Foreman was also unsteady on his feet, holding onto the car for support.
At first Foreman did not want to tell police where he was coming from, but eventually responded “West Palm Beach.” He also told officers he had six beers around 6 p.m. that day. Foreman refused the officer’s request to perform standard sobriety tests.
He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, and promptly fell asleep in the police vehicle during transport to the Alcohol Testing Facility on Gun Club Road. Once there, he once again refused to perform sobriety tests.
Foreman was released on his own recognizance the later that day, and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.
