Gainesville senior pitcher Alissa Humphrey struck out all 15 batters she faced to throw her third perfect game of the season as the Hurricanes defeated Newberry 10-0 in five innings on Friday night in Gainesville.
Humphrey (4-0) also hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Gainesville sophomore outfielder Jayla Clark went 3 for 3 with two triples, two runs and an RBI.
Briana Boggs, a junior catcher, went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for the Hurricanes while freshman Cheyenne Boggs batted 1 for 2 with an RBI double.
Gainesville (4-0) plays 6 p.m. Monday at Middleburg.
Trenton 4, Baker County 1: At Baker County, Darian Ingram tossed a complete-game four-hitter for the Tigers to improve to 6-0 from the circle. Ingram walked one and struck out 12.
Offensively for Trenton, a triple and home run by junior Keeli Zingaro highlighted a 3-for-4 night at the plate for her. Zingaro also had two RBIs.
The Tigers (8-0) play Tuesday at home against Lafayette.
Santa Fe 19, St. Joseph’s 4: At St. Augustine, Raiders senior attacker Spencer Bonfiglio scored five goals as his team picked up a key district road win.
Santa Fe senior attacker Luke Lower had two goals and seven assists, while KJ Johnson and Lance Nelson — both seniors — each scored three times.
The Raiders (4-3, 3-1) host Eastside on Monday.
P.K. Yonge 11, Oak Hall 4: At Oak Hall, senior Kyle Chappell pitched a complete-game win for the Blue Wave (5-1) and struck out eight. Senior catcher Ethan Whelan threw out two base runners. Cody Cellon drove in two runs and Caleb Harker had a double with two RBI.
Lafayette 14, Hamilton County 1: At Mayo, the Hornets were led at the plate by senior Dylan Mock (3-3 with HR, 2 doubles and 7 RBI), freshman Dawson Mock (2-run home run, three runs scores), sophomore Max Byrd (3-3 with a double and 2 RBI), senior Jaxson Beach (3 runs scored), senior pitcher Jarrett Pearson (5 innings, five hits allowed).
Buchholz 4, Flagler Palm Coast 3: Alan Wang won the deciding match to give the Bobcats the win. Other singles winners were Kejin Dong and Austin Jones. In doubles, the duo of Dong and Evan Graetz also came through for Buchholz.
Buchholz 5, Flagler Palm Coast 2: For the Bobcats, Kensie Cricchio, Cade Cricchio and Jenny Zhang all won singles matches.
The Cricchios teamed up to win a doubles match, as did Zhang and Lauryn Moffitt.
Buchholz 6, Santa Fe 1: Kensie Cricchio, Cade Cricchio, Amy Xing and Helena Jiang all claimed their singles matches for the Bobcats.
Kensie Cricchio and Cade Cricchio won one doubles match while the tandem of Kelly Wang and Mckayla Ro won the other.,
Lafayette 3, Newberry 1: At Newberry, senior Dylan Mock pitched 5 innings and struck out 10 while also going 1 for 2 with two walks and a run to pace the Hornets.
Also contributing offensively for Lafayette were seniors Joseph Perry (2 for 4) and Jackson Beach (1 for 3, run).
Hornets sophomore Jackson Ward tossed two scoreless innings of relief and struck out two.
Oak Hall 7, Newberry 0: At Oak Hall, the Eagles dropped just two of 58 games against the Panthers.
