As part of the philanthropic #GivingTuesdayNow movement, The Daytona Beach News-Journal and other newspapers owned by Gannett Co. are offering deals to new digital-only subscribers.

Tuesday, May 5, has been designated as #GivingTuesdayNow by GivingTuesday.org to promote philanthropic support during the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of that effort, the Poynter Institute for Media Studies and others in the journalism industry are using the occasion to promote #GivingNewsDay to put a spotlight on the essential role played by journalists in providing information during the pandemic.

To mark the occasion, Gannett Co., owner of The Daytona Beach News-Journal, is offering new digital subscriptions for full access to news-journalonline.com for $29.99 a year, then $2.99 a month after that.
