West Palm Beach Police released a photo of a gold ring found on a man whose body was discovered in a city canal Tuesday.

WEST PALM BEACH - Police are asking the public to help identify a man whose body was found in a city canal Tuesday afternoon.


The body was discovered by a city landscaping employee who was cutting grass at 1:40 p.m. at Carver Avenue and Ninth Street, near a residential neighborhood just south of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and east of Australian Avenue.


On Friday, investigators released a photo of a gold band ring with what appear to be small diamonds around it. They said the man was appears to have short brown hair and short beard.


Police did not provide any estimated age for the man.


Detectives did not disclose if the body had any signs of trauma.
