Public and private beaches in the Town of Palm Beach will be closed through Sunday.
All public and privately owned beaches in Palm Beach are closed for the weekend as Hurricane Isaias continues to approach the Florida coast.

There will be no lifeguards on duty at Midtown Beach or Phipps Ocean Park on Saturday or Sunday while the beaches remain closed, the town said in a hurricane alert.

The center of the hurricane is on course to strike Andros Island in the Bahamas this afternoon and cruise up Florida’s east coast late today, according to the National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. update.
The Category 1 storm’s maximum sustained winds fell to 80 mph, and it continued moving northwest at 12 mph, according to the advisory.
