You can't read a newspaper or turn on television these days without seeing a constant barrage of skin-color-related stores.

Former President Barack Obama posing with Louis Farrakhan, or Maxine Waters boycotting the State of the Union address, is getting old and tiresome.

In this country, we are mostly white, then Latino, then black, then "other," which includes Asians and our indigenous people, who always get what's left.

We white people are the same as we blacks and other minority races. Since 1965 we've struggled to live together in peace. We must work together, go to school together, shop and even drive alongside each other on our roadways. We need to get off our soapboxes and shut up about race. Change the subject.
