There is a distinct difference between political differences and political vengeance. For the past three years we have seen political differences quickly evolve into political vengeance on a scale I have not seen in my lifetime.

One of the many shining aspects of American democracy has been the peaceful transfer of power following an election. But apparently President Donald Trump’s victory came as such a shock that while the transfer of power seemed outwardly peaceful we are learning that behind the scenes at the FBI, Justice Department , CIA and the State Department there were administrators within those agencies who were not about to accept that Trump won the 2016 election and became vengeful in defeat and have tried to bring down the duly elected president of the United States.

We now know that there were forces at work within our governmental agencies to spy on the Trump campaign and to launch a false narrative that the Trump campaign was working with the Russians to win the 2016 election.

A totally false dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democrat National Committee was used to launch the Mueller investigation that spent 18 months and over $30 million to find out that there was no evidence of collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign. We have just learned that our very secret FISA Warrants deigned to combat foreign intelligence efforts against the U.S. was illegally used on an American citizen, Carter Page, a graduate of the Naval Academy who had worked for our own CIA in behalf of our country. We will learn considerably more once the Durham report comes out from the Attorney Generals Office in a few months. This report could zero in on the cast of characters trying to illegally damage the Trump campaign before and after his election. It was a silent coup.

After the Mueller report dashed the hopes of the anti-Trump forces the results only fanned the flames among those seeking vengeance by whatever means available. The new element of vengeance came about when the Democrats won the majority in the House Of Representatives in 2018. Now they have a new avenue to seek vengeance against Trump and that became his impeachment.

Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House stated that impeachment should be a bipartisan effort. She was correct but later totally caved in to the far left element of her party, led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She feared losing her position as speaker and that was more important to her than respecting the Constitution. Not one Republican in the House voted for impeachment and Pelosi ignored her own statement that impeachment should be bipartisan.

Now vengeance fully consumed the House Democrats led by Rep. Adam Schiff and Gerald Nadler . As the impeachment hearing unfolded the Democrats denied many of the most fundamental legal rights to the president. The president's attorney's were not allowed to attend Schiff's meetings, cross examine their witnesses or call witnesses.

Even some Republican members of Congress were not allowed to attend Schiff's secret meetings held in the basement of the Capitol. Unlike any other presidential impeachments where there were months of investigation the Trump impeachment was fast tracked through the House. They claimed that Trump was so dangerous that they needed to act with dispatch. But the urgency of impeachment suddenly ground to a halt as Pelosi decided not to forward the results to the Senate for nearly four weeks, which undercut the Democrats entire argument that Trump was an immediate threat to our country.

Finally Pelosi sent the formal charges of the House Democrats to the Senate for trial. Schiff and Nadler claimed they have overwhelming and clear-cut evidence that Trump had committed two impeachable offenses: the first, "abuse of power," and second, "obstruction of Congress."

No criminal behavior was charged and it became clear that these were nebulous charges coming from vengeful House Democrats. It was a total farce. During the trial Schiff and Nadler proved to be no match for the president's legal team. In the end both charges fell woefully short of the votes for conviction and the lone defection on either side was made by Sen. Mitt Romey, who voted guilty on one of the two charges.

Perhaps the best visual evidence of the level of Democrat vengeance was illustrated at the State of the Union address when at the conclusion we saw Pelosi physically tearing up her copy of the president’s address. She looked like a 9-year-old spoiled brat tearing up her grade card.
