I am an environmentally conscious 18-year-old who wants my food choices to be environmentally friendly; however, at the same time, I love to eat meat. I have found that in order to fulfill both of these needs, I have had to make some concessions. My way of doing this is to have a predominately vegetation diet while consuming meat sporadically.

I consulted The Flexitarian Diet guide and found that it has components that I find appealing, such as eating nuts, fruits and vegetables while at the same time consuming non-processed meat, fish and dairy in moderation. With this diet I am able to rely on plant-based sources for my energy while at the same time fulfilling my occasional need for meat and dairy.

Therefore, if someone is looking for a compromise when eating while staying environmentally conscious then the Flexitarian diet might be the best option to explore.
