The biggest threat to the world since the 1918 influenza pandemic is facing us like a specter of deliberate darkness that has no boundaries. Our very lives are at stake. During Donald Trump's news conference with the Centers for Disease Control, I saw a president that continues to show his arrogance and ignorance.

We have a president that gutted the CDC, EPA and other health programs to get more money for his wall. These vital elements of the government are needed in times of emergencies and worldwide catastrophes.

What we need in this time of crisis is a leader that will bring all Americans together. Not a president that accuses the Democrats and media of inciting fear for the purposes of a political agenda. This virus knows no boundaries, political affiliation, media response or any other digression that comes from this White House.

We need a leader, government competency, the truth and planning for the darkness that is coming. If this new variant virus shows the tentacles of the 1918 Spanish influenza, we are in for a reckoning. Let us hope that at least the states and local governments are as ready as they can be and place their target on the virus instead of the ugly political agenda this president is so worried about.
