Former Sarasota High catcher Brandon Chapman signed a free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves out of George Washington University.

Chapman was assigned to the Braves’ Gulf Coast League team at Disney Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista.

A four-year starter for George Washington, Chapman hit .200 with a homer and 14 runs batted during his senior season. His best season was as a freshman when he hit .247 with a homer and 25 RBI. He hit three homers as a junior.
