Motorsports Editor Godwin Kelly takes Daytona Motor Mouths on the road for a quick interview with NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones.

Jones drives the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota and took the media on some stuntman-like rides at Daytona International Speedway Wednesday.

Zach Dean, who is billed as the “world’s angriest young man,” takes the seat for gone missing Ken Willis.

The boys devote most of their attention in the first segment to the weird race at Michigan. We hear from race winner Clint Bowyer and his crew chief Mike Bugarewicz, who Bowyer calls “Buga.”

Then the guys talk about Jones, who made a media appearance at Daytona Wednesday. Godwin does a one on one interview with the young driver.

In Green/White/Checkers Zach explains the News-Journal contest that will award three winners race tickets and other perks. Go to for more information on the contest.

The boys end this edition of the DMM podcast with the velvet-smooth voice of singer Trace Adkins, who was grand marshal at Michigan last week.

Godwin and Zach agree Adkins has a true “man voice.”

All that and more on this week’s Daytona Motor Mouths.

Each week, join The Daytona Beach News-Journal’s Godwin Kelly and Ken Willis, two of the preeminent motorsports writers in America, as they hit all the hot topics in NASCAR. And maybe a few other things.
