We're only a month away from NASCAR returning to Daytona, with football right around the corner

Stetson's loss to North Carolina last weekend closed the book on the 2017-18 athletic year for local high schools and colleges, and the dog days of summer are officially underway.

No need to fret, though. There be plenty of action over at Jackie Robinson ballpark when the Daytona Tortugas begin the second half of the season next week, and we're only three weeks away from cars hitting the track at Daytona International Speedway.

It never too early to look forward to football season, either. Believe it or not, college football media days are only a month away, and fall practice for both high school and college football are right around the corner.
